The Reiki Philosophy

Reiki is a Japanese word which means "Universal Life Energy".  Everyone is born with Reiki.  It is energy of life itself.  It is the energy that emanates from the hands of a Reiki therapist.  It is the energy that develops and sustains life in any form that we know.

The Reiki Procedure

Reiki is simple and direct, can be done at any time or place, and requires no equipment.  A Reiki treatment is a gentle hands-on process that allows healing, balancing energy to be transferred through the practitioner to another person, and animal, a plant, or the practitioner's own body.  A Reiki treatment is safe, non-intrusive, non-invasive, and non-manipulative.  The recipient remains fully clothed and no substances are applied to the body.  During a full Reiki treatment, the practitioner's hands are placed on the head, the upper body (from neck to pelvic area) and the back (from shoulders to tailbone).  Although the focus is on the major organs, the energy will reach and benefit every cell in the body.

The Reiki Ethic

Reiki brings the body into harmony by relieving physical and emotional blockages.
Reiki heals the cause and eliminates the effects of an imbalance.
Reiki helps  minimize your sense of helplessness when facing disease or trauma of modern society.
Reiki can be used in conjunction with standard medical procedures and religious beliefs without conflict.
Reiki helps lower the increasing cost of conventional medical care, easing strain on your budget.
Reiki is completely impersonal.

The Reiki Principles

Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings
Just for today I will not worry
Just for today I will not be angry
Just for today I will do my work honestly
Just for today I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing
